Memorandum Of Understanding between the Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea and Umbria Region for sharing methodologies, tools and technologies to support environmental assessment processes

On 29/01/2018 the Directorate General for Environmental Assessments and Authorizations of the Ministry of the Environment (MATTM) and the Directorate for Agriculture, Environment, Energy, Culture, Cultural Heritage and Entertainment of Umbria Region signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU).
The Memorandum of Understanding is the starting point to a cross-institutional collaboration to define methodologies, tools and technologies for supporting decision-making based on the use of innovative tools (IoT based) and on technical-scientific international standards, already tested by Umbria Region through ARPA UMBRIA activities.
In the framework of Legislative Decree 104/2017, which guarantees transparency and uniformity of application of the EIA legislation, the collaboration between MATTM and Umbria Region aims to improve the environmental sustainability in territorial governance, focusing on the quality of environmental assessments and streamlining of administrative activities.
