Environmental Assessments and Authorizations: SEA - EIA - IPPC Permit

The new campaign of the Ministry for the Environment and Protection of the Territory and the Sea - aimed at:

• disseminating citizens' rights to information and participation in decision-making processes related to environmental issues, stemming from the principles of the Aarhus Convention
• the tools made available by the Ministry that allow these rights to be exercised

will start on 17 September on RAI TV and radio channels and on the web.

The Environmental Assessments portal (www.va.minambiente.it), referred to in the programmed spot, is one of the most effective tools with which citizens can easily know the characteristics and location of projects / plans / programs and their environmental effects through the consultation of documents and interactive maps.

Based on this information, citizens can therefore take an active part in the environmental assessment procedure by submitting their observations and providing additional knowledge taken into account in the assessment and final decision.

The initiative aims to "shorten the distances" between institutions and civil society by encouraging a detailed knowledge of environmental issues and, with the transparency of administrative action, a full accessibility to all technical and administrative documents.
