“The Regulation for the determination of the tariffs to be paid by the developers to cover the costs incurred by the competent authority for the organization and conduct of the assessment, monitoring and control activities relating to the environmental assessment procedures under Legislative Decree no.152 of 3 April 2006” has been published on the Official Journal of the Italian Republic no. 1 of the 2^nd of January 2017.

While not changing the current rate of 0.5 per thousand already in force for EIA procedures and EIA Strategic Works procedures, the Regulation provides for economic contributions to be paid by the developers to cover the costs incurred by the competent authority for different types of EIA and SEA procedures, for which currently no burdens are provided.

The Regulation shall enter into force on the 17^th of January 2017 and will apply to the procedures started after its entry into force. A special transitional arrangement is provided for Environmental Impact Assessment (Strategic works Law 443/2001) started at the date of entry into force of Legislative Decree n. 50 of 2016 (Procurement Code).

A summary of the tariffs for single procedure is provided below.

EIA Screening	0.25 per thousand of the value of the work to be carried out and, in any case, within the maximum limit of the amount of 10,000.00 Euros for the EIA screening procedures under art. 20 of Legislative Decree no. 152 of 3 April 2006
EIA	0.5 per thousand of the value of works to be carried out, as established by art. 9, paragraph 6 of the Decree of the President of the Republic no. 90 of 14 May 2007 for EIA procedures under art. 12 of Legislative Decree no. 152 of 3 April 2006
EIA (Strategic works Law 443/2001)	0.5 per thousand of the value of works to be carried out, as established by art. 9, paragraph 6 of the Decree of the President of the Republic no. 90 of 14 May 2007 for EIA procedures under articles 182, 183, 184, 185 of the Legislative Decree no.163 of 12 April 2006
EIA compliance (Strategic works Law 443/2001)	25,000.00 Euros for EIA compliance procedures under art.185, paragraphs 4 and 5 of the Legislative Decree no.163 of 12 April 2006
EIA follow-up (Strategic works Law 443/2001)	0.25 per thousand of the value of the work, determined according to the final detailed project submitted at the first stage of EIA follow-up for EIA follow-up procedures, under art. 185, paragraphs 6 and 7 of Legislative Decree no.163 of 12 April 2006 the amount mentioned to the point above, divided by the annuity provided for in the time schedule attached to the final detailed project, determines the amount that must be paid by the 30^th of January of each year. For the works for which, at the date of publication of this Regulation, the EIA follow-up for some of the annuities provided for in the time schedule attached to the final detailed project are already partially carried out, the amount is due only in proportion to the remaining annual payments, or share part of them, for which the EIA follow-up are still to be carried.

As provided for by the Regulation, the measure of the Ministry of the Environment concerning the rules for the payment of economic contributions to be paid for different types of EIA and SEA procedures, and the forms to be used, will be issued shortly.
