Environmental Assessments and Authorizations: SEA - EIA - IPPC Permit

Within the National Operational Programme for Governance and System Actions (ESF) 2007-2013 - Action 7b - Actions supporting the Strategic Environmental Assessment processes and the Environment Impact Assessment procedures, the Directorate for Environmental Assessments and Authorizations of the Ministry of the Environment, in collaboration with the Directorate for the Protection of Nature and Sea, is currently organizing an event entitled "The environmental assessment and the integrated planning of natural protected areas and Natura 2000 sites", which, for the centrality and interest of the topics being addressed, will be held twice, after being tailored on the local peculiarities with respect to the issues discussed, in two of the four Convergence Regions to which the Programme is dedicated: Sicily (Palermo, 8 July 2015) and Campania (Salerno, 14 July 2015).

The scheduled events will address the environmental assessment processes related to the preparation and approval of the planning tools, regulation and management of protected areas and Natura 2000 network sites, aiming at investigating procedural /technical aspects and at taking advantage of the opportunities such tools may provide in preventing the conflicts between the needs for environmental protection and , in particular, biodiversity conservation, and development policies of the territories.
