Project: Adaptation of the cogeneration plant of Taranto

Description: The project involves the replacement of obsolete equipment with a gas turbo-alternator (42 MWe), a direct heat boiler fuelled by natural gas and/or fuel-refinery gas and a backpressure steam turbine. The project also provides for the construction of a 150 kV single circuit overhead electrical power line (about 800 m long) from the electrical substation to the West Taranto-Taranto Molo power line, for the connection of the plant to the National Grid.
