The Directorate-General for the Environmental Assessments and Authorizations of the Ministry of the Environment joined the Open Government Week #SAA2017,sponsored by the Department for Public Administration, through the publication, scheduled on the 10th March 2017, of the guidelines for the Non technical Summary of the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) and for the Non technical Summary of the Environmental Report (SEA).

On 27 June 2016, the Italian Ministry of Environment, as provided for by the Espoo Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a transboundary context, submitted its comments to the Republic and Cantone Ticino regarding the project of the landfill for inert waste in the municipality of Stabio (Cantone Ticino) together with the comments submitted by other Public Authorities.

The deadline for the submission of comments on the EIA related to Cispadana Motorway connecting the Reggiolo-Rolo exit to the South Ferrara motorway barrier has been extended to the 20th of May 2016 (60 days starting from the 21st of March 2016, date on which all the documentation has been published on the EIA-SEA portal).

On 19th of April 2016, Italy received notification from the Department of the Land of the Republic and Cantone Ticino asking possible interest in participating to the EIA procedure in a transboundary context of the project “Landfill for inert waste in the municipality of Stabio (Cantone Ticino, Swizerland)", according to the provisions of Espoo Convention.

SPEEDY (Shared Project for Environmental Evaluation with Dynamic Governance) is an Union project developed as part of the IPA Adriatic Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013. Within the Speedy project, a web platform has been realized in order to share the SEA knowledge and strategies adopted by the project partners.
