JASPERS: Guidelines for Environmental Assessment in the new programming cycle 2014-2020
JASPERS has presented a toolkit designed to support the environmental authorities of the Member States adopting the SEA and EIA strategies that can meet the requirements of ex-ante conditionality for the new programming cycle of EU funds 2014-2020.

Redefined marine areas open to hydrocarbons exploration
With the Ministerial Decree of the 9th of August 2013 the Ministry of Economic Development has redefined marine areas within which it is possible apply for the prospection, exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the implementation of the provisions already introduced by art. 6, paragraph 17 of the Legislative Decree no. 152/2006 as amended by Law 7 August 2012 no. 134 "Urgent measures for the growth of the Country."

Law 98/2013: National EIA for pilot geothermal plants
Law 98/2013, converting Decree Law n.69/2013 "Urgent provisions to relaunch the economy" makes specific changes to the energy sector and in particular to Legislative Decree 22/2010, as regards pilot geothermal plants whose competence goes from Regions to State (Article 41, paragraphs 7-bis, 7 ter, 7-quater of the Law 98/2013).

Quality Award Bruno Agricola - First edition
On 15 July, on the occasion of the Workshop "The Strategic Environmental Assessment in the new EU programming cycle 2014-2020" was organized a session dedicated to the results of the first edition of the Quality Award Bruno Agricola for quality practices in the preparation of Non-Technical Summary in the process of Environmental assessment.

The EU adopted the Directive on the safety of offshore oil and gas activities
On the 10th of June 2013 was adopted the Directive on the safety of offshore activities related to oil and gas amending Directive 2004/35/EC.
